Indy, is back in action in a new breathtaking adventure together with a night club singer, Willie Scott, and a 12 year old named Short Round. After an escape from the streets of Shanghai, they end up in an Indian village where the people believe evil spirits have taken their children away after a sacred Sankara stone was stolen. Indiana Jones agrees to try and retrieve the stone with the children for the villagers and heads to Pankot Palace...

Harrison Ford looked forward to some vacation time as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg approached him to star in the sequel (actually prequel) to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Spielberg had said that he only wanted a peripheral role in this film, which was originally titled Indiana Jones and the Temple of Death. However, after a four-day brainstorming session with the ever persuasive George Lucas, Spielberg committed to directing the film. Spielberg's involvement was instrumental in Ford's immediate agreement to pick up Indiana Jones's now legendary bullwhip for a second time.
